Dealership: L0116 All American Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram FIAT of San Angelo All American Chrysler Jeep Dodge of San Angelo Pay Range45K-145K YR Bonus: Up to 10k paid over the first year! All American CDJR of San Angelo TX is seeking a specialized automotive transmission technician who removes, disassembles, cleans, repairs, and reassembles vehicle transmissions to manufacturer specifications who is capable of diagnosing complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, replacing worn "soft parts" (seals, gaskets) and damaged "hard parts" (gears, clutches) to restore the unit's functionality. Key Responsibilities and Duties Diagnosis & Testing: Utilizing diagnostic tools to identify transmission issues, performing road tests, and conducting hydraulic/electrical tests. Rebuilding Process: Disassembling transmissions, inspecting components for wear, cleaning parts, and reassembling with new seals, gaskets, and friction components. Installation: Removing transmissions from vehicles and re-installing the rebuilt units. Documentation & Precision: Reviewing manufacturer specifications and technical manuals to ensure accuracy. including punch times and RO documentation required by manufacture for claim processing. Shop Maintenance: Maintaining a clean and organized workstation, managing inventory of parts, and handling hazardous materials. Required Skills and Qualifications Technical Knowledge: Thorough understanding of automatic and manual transmission systems, including hydraulic pumps and gear trains. Must be proficient in basic automotive knowledge as other types of repairs may be assigned as work demand requires. Tools Proficiency: Must have min tools and toolbox required to perform rebuild or replacement repairs. Education/Experience: Manufacture or ASE certification. Proven knowledge base and 3 to 5 years of transmission diagnostic, rebuild, and replacement experience will be considered but manufacture certification will be required within 90 days from start date. Attention to Detail: Ability to handle delicate, precise, and complex internal components.
