Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled analytics professional who can help move the organization beyond SQL-based reporting and static dashboards into a more mature, scalable analytics model. This role will deliver business intelligence, automation, advanced analytics, and data products that improve operational performance, strengthen risk visibility, and support faster, evidence-based decision-making. The ideal candidate brings strong technical depth, disciplined development practices, and the curiosity to turn complex business problems into clear analytical solutions. The candidate will gather, integrate, and transform data from multiple sources; design reusable data assets; identify trends, exceptions, and root causes; and build intuitive reporting and analytics solutions using modern tools and platforms. This position partners closely with business, technology, risk, and leadership stakeholders to define success measures, evaluate outcomes, monitor performance, and ensure analytics work leads to practical business actionnot just reporting activity. This role will also help raise the teams overall analytic maturity by applying software development practices, source control, agile delivery, automation, Python-based analysis, Databricks-enabled workflows, and responsible use of AI tools to improve speed, quality, transparency, and business value. This is a strong fit for someone who can operate as both a hands-on developer and an analytical thought partnersomeone comfortable building, questioning, automating, explaining, and improving how data is used to make decisions. This role requires working from one of the posted locations three (3) or more days per week with the flexibility to work remotely on other days. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience Four to five years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, reporting modernization, analytics engineering, automation, or a related field Preferred Skills/Experience Strong experience with ETL processes, data integration, data transformation, reusable data modeling, and production-ready data pipelines Advanced experience with Power BI and SQL querying/coding, including data modeling, performance optimization, dashboard design, and reporting modernization Hands-on experience with modern cloud data platforms, including Snowflake and Databricks, with the ability to design scalable analytics workflows Experience with Python for data analysis, automation, reusable scripting, exception detection, model support, and analytics solution development Experience using GitLab for version control and collaborative development Experience using Jira for agile project management, requirements tracking, and delivery execution Experience with AI prompting, AI agents, and AI-enabled tools to improve analysis, automate repetitive work, summarize complex information, and accelerate business outcomes responsibly Credit Risk experience with strong understanding of risk management principles, portfolio performance, and risk analytics Strong analytic maturity with the ability to frame business problems, challenge assumptions, evaluate data quality, identify meaningful patterns, and translate findings into recommended action Ability to data mine, analyze data, tell the story behind the numbers, and present insights clearly to technical, operational, risk, and executive audiences Ability to convert static reporting into dynamic analytics products, including automated refreshes, exception monitoring, trend analysis, leading indicators, and decision-support views Experience applying development discipline to analytics work, including documentation, peer review, version control, testing, backlog management, and sustainable handoff practices Comfort working in ambiguous environments where the request may start as a report but the real need is diagnosis, automation, controls, operational insight, or a better decision process Ability to develop and maintain strategic partnerships with senior business unit management, business partners, project sponsors, and technology teams Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills with the ability to connect technical work to business impact, risk reduction, capacity improvement, and measurable outcomes Strong organization and project management skills Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills Curiosity, ownership, and a continuous-improvement mindset, with the ability to help raise the teams analytics craftnot simply complete assigned reports If theres anything we can do to accommodate a disability during any portion of the application or hiring process, please refer to our disability accommodations for applicants. The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. Pay Range: $86,360.00 - $101,600.00 U.S. Bank will consider qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records for employment.
