PCR/Lemay, a division of Waste Connections, is hiring a Preventative Maintenance Technician to support our fleet operations in Frederickson, Washington. As a Preventative Maintenance Technician, youll help keep our fleet of garbage trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment running safely and efficiently. This is a hands-on role suited for individuals with mechanical experience who are ready to step into a PM mechanic position. If youve got a strong work ethic and a desire to advance, well provide on-the-job training to help you grow into a full diesel mechanic. Schedule: Monday to Friday | 3:00 PM 11:30 PM Overtime: 310 hours/week on average Compensation: Base Pay: $29.00 $30.25/hour Shift Differential: +$1.50/hour Total Starting Pay: $30.50 $31.75/hour Key Responsibilities: Perform preventative maintenance on refuse trucks, trailers, and yellow iron equipment Use fleet maintenance software to manage service records and inspections Conduct safety checks and maintain a clean, OSHA-compliant shop Collaborate with drivers to identify and resolve mechanical issues Complete repairs based on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs) Work Environment & Physical Requirements: This is a physically demanding position Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted on a regular basis Frequent bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, and standing for extended periods Must be able to climb stairs and ladders, and get in and out of truck cabs and equipment safely Required to adhere to all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times while on duty Exposure to unpleasant odors, noise, dust, grease, and moving mechanical parts is common in the shop and yard environment Qualifications: Experience in commercial vehicle or diesel maintenance preferred (not required) Welding experience is a plus, but not required Valid drivers license Basic tool set and toolbox Ability to use diagnostic tools and basic computer systems Positive attitude and willingness to learn Safety-Sensitive Role: This position is classified as safety-sensitive, meaning it involves tasks where impaired performance could pose a risk to the safety of the employee or others.
