Requirements Job Overview Property Manager, Calcagnini Contemplative Center Georgetown University The Property Manager serves as the on-site facilities leader for the Calcagnini Contemplative Center, a 55-acre retreat property in Bluemont, Virginia, operated by Georgetown University. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of facilities maintenance, operations, and security across the centers buildings and grounds, including 28 cabins, a dining hall/kitchen, a community building, chapel, farmhouse, storage shed, and a 3-bedroom caretaker residence. As a live-in role, the Property Manager provides year-round support to ensure the site is prepared for a wide range of spiritual and religious retreats hosted by Georgetowns Catholic, Protestant, Muslim, Jewish, Hindu, and Buddhist communities. The position requires flexible scheduling to accommodate evening and weekend retreats, and includes responsibilities such as hands-on maintenance, contractor management, retreat support, safety oversight, and budget tracking. The Property Manager works closely with Campus Ministry and other university stakeholders to provide a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for all visitors. Additional duties include, but are not limited to: Oversee day-to-day facilities operations, including maintenance, repairs, and preventive care Provide on-site support during all retreats, ensuring comfort, safety, and responsiveness Manage security protocols and building access across the property Supervise contractors and liaise with Clarke County officials as needed Monitor the facilities budget, plan for capital improvements, and manage procurement Communicate effectively with Georgetowns main campus and Campus Ministry using digital systems Deliver high-level customer service to retreat participants and staff Work Interactions The position reports directly to the Director, Facilities Services, and will support the mission of Campus Ministry; there will be a supervisory dotted line from Campus Ministry. This position operates with a high degree of independence while remaining accountable to Facilities Services leadership and established University policies and procedures. The individual must be able to work well with clients (students, faculty, staff, alumni), must possess a strong work ethic, must be able to instruct and direct others, must be able to work independently and make decisions and must be able to develop creative solutions when confronted with unique challenges. Requirements and Qualifications Associates Degree in related field or combination of education and experience Must possess basic administrative, computer and mathematic skills to accurately prepare invoices, track paperwork, and communicate through email, etc. Must be able to work independently and make decisions. Must be able to work well with others and must be able to instruct and supervise others. Individual must be able to work from a ladder and access tight locations. Preferred Qualifications Certified Facility Manager preferred with at least 10 years of experience in similar facility operations, the trades to include plumbing, drywall patching, painting, general electrical maintenance and installation 5 years of experience in supervision of subcontractors Individual must possess a technical and mechanical mindset, be self- reliant, and possess excellent communication skills Work Mode Designation This position has been designated as On-Campus. Pay Range: The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $44,022.00 - $73,406.80 Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidates individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the Universitys business needs and external factors.
