About Transportation Operational Analytics The Transportation Operational Analytics team serves as the central analytics hub for Walmarts Transportation organization, enabling datainformed decisions across the enterprise. We support the systems and processes that move trucks across the network -analyzing how freight flows from DCs to suppliers and stores, how transportation systems perform, and where opportunities exist to improve speed, cost, and service. The team focuses on: Building dashboards and analytical tools that monitor transportation KPIs and system performance. Supporting AOP savings initiatives through advanced analytics and optimization strategies. Providing adhoc and executiveready analytics that support fast, informed decisionmaking. Driving analytics for pilots and strategic initiatives tied to transportation systems, processes, and network changes. As part of this team, youll apply advanced analytics to real operational challenges, helping improve network efficiency, system reliability, and daytoday transportation execution. What Youll Do Transportation Systems & Operations Analytics Analyze transportation system data that supports the movement of trucks across the network - from distribution centers to suppliers and stores. Evaluate how operational processes and system configurations impact service, cost, utilization, and execution. Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities within transportation workflows and supporting systems. Data Management & Quality Extract, validate, and manage data from multiple transportation systems and data sources. Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures to support analytics use cases. Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and alignment with governance and compliance standards. Analytics & Insight Generation Perform advanced analysis using SQL, Python, and statistical methods to uncover trends, risks, and optimization opportunities. Translate operational and system data into clear, actionable insights that drive efficiency and cost savings. Build dashboards and visualizations that provide visibility into transportation KPIs, performance drivers, and system health. Business Partnership & Communication Partner with Transportation Operations, Home Office teams, and crossfunctional stakeholders to define problems and align on metrics. Communicate insights through compelling storytelling and visualizations tailored to operational and leadership audiences. Support leadership with adhoc analyses to enable timely, databacked decisions. Optimization & Continuous Improvement Lead rootcause analyses to identify operational and system drivers of performance issues. Recommend and support process and system improvements using datadriven insights. Support pilots and strategic initiatives by providing analytics that inform decisionmaking and scaling decisions. Leadership & Technical Expertise Serve as a thought partner and mentor, promoting datadriven decisionmaking and continuous improvement practices. Ensure strong data quality, governance, and reliability across analytics solutions and deployments (e.g., GCP BigQuery). Contribute technical expertise to analytics development and operational problemsolving. What Youll Bring Expertise in SQL, Python, and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
