OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY Fox TV Stations FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Networks national content. JOB DESCRIPTION ASSIGNMENT EDITOR: (Full Time Regular): We have expanded from Linear TV and now reach EVEN MORE viewers on Streaming Platforms. Fox13, Tampas leading News Station, is looking for a multi-talented Assignment Editor. This is a rare chance to join our incredibly popular Good Day Tampa Bay team which owns the morning hours. When everyone else is waking up, be the first to report breaking news, coordinate daily live feature segments and work with Streaming initiatives and Develop Content across Platforms. Who we want: Someone with solid editorial judgment, strong organizational skills and a knack for creativity Digitally savvy and able to create content for online and social platforms Willing to be in the heart of the newsroom, working with reporters, photographers, producers, and digital team members Build strong relationships with community contacts, public information officers, and other news sources Experience in tuning in satellite and bonded cellular signals is a plus Experience as an assignment editor or digital content producer in a news department is also highly preferred Qualified candidate must be flexible to work various shifts, including weekends, and holidays as needed.
