UTLX/PROCOR: The Senior Accountant is responsible for providing accurate and data-based information on the companys profitability, solvency, stability and liquidity. This position is responsible for the creation and posting of entries to ensure accuracy of the trial balance and ensure that accounts are reconciled. Hybrid work environment with minimum 2 days in office required (Chicago or Oakville Ontario Office) PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the preparation and posting of month-end entries along with other needed entries. Provides creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performance. Research and submit information requested. Responsible for leading/participating in shop inventories each year (travel/overnight stays are required). Manage GL accounts and ensure that balance sheet reconciliations are done and tied out. Drives process improvement and policy development initiatives that impact the function. Collaborates with other departments to ensure accuracy of the trial balance. Works closely with each plant/shop to understand their processes and pain points and to provide information needed to help support a successful operation. Participates in and actively supports initiatives to ensure that the Company achieves its goals. SKILLS/SPECIFICATIONS: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical and data gathering skills. Ability to collaborate with others across the company, to understand multiple parts of the accounting process. Influence without authority while not directly managing others, must have the skills to influence others. Proficient in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office and financial software applications. Understanding of GAAP and ability to create needed entries and analysis without assistance. Detail orientated with the ability to multi-task and manage time effectively. Ability to sit at a computer for an extended period of time. Hybrid work environment with minimum 2 days in office required (Chicago or Oakville Office) Ability to travel up to 25%. The incumbent works to meet internal and external customer expectations at all times by fully applying oneself to the task involved, preventing errors, and developing and implementing personal quality improvement projects. In addition, the incumbent is required to understand the SPIs of Marmon and actively enforce and uphold them at all times. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors Degree in Finance, Business or Accounting required. Minimum of 3-5 years of related work experience in a corporate or manufacturing environment.
