The Opportunity: The BI Engineer II designs, implements, and maintains systems used to collect and analyze business intelligence data. The selected Engineer will create dashboards, databases, and other platforms that allow for efficient collection and evaluation of BI data. Drive the development and analysis of data, reporting automation, Dashboarding, and business intelligence programs. Develop a deep understanding of systems and processes in order to extract insights from existing data leveraging agile practices to ensure the highest possible quality of delivery. Actively review new bugs reported and complete grooming and sprint planning. Complete bug root cause analysis and work with other teams as needed to resolve issues and completes documentation and notification to the bug reporter at least twice per week. Subject matter expert (SME) of report data modeling as well as being knowledgeable about what each field is used for and is able to determine appropriate uses of data fields to create reporting. Explain reports to team members regarding the subject matter of each report as well as the architecture used to put it together. Collect, organize, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy through Power BI report development. Responsible for the data mining, manipulation and delivery to key stakeholders and executives in accordance with priorities and deadlines. Leads the evaluation of what current and future data needs are and translates needs to stakeholders and product owners to support all lines of business. Completing code review / peer review of completed work by co-developers and providing feedback identifying issues or required report updates to meet the requirements ahead of the report moving to UAT. Presenting and/or publishing completed reports in accordance with publishing guidelines.
