This is your opportunityno prior experience required! We provide the training. Once hired, well sponsor you through the Utah POST (Peace Officer Standards and Training) Academy. How the Hiring Process Works: We conduct testing every 23 months based on hiring needs. You will only be contacted once a new testing date is scheduled communication is sent via email. **Please note that you will not be notified of the next steps until a new testing date is scheduled.** Communication of testing dates will be via email. Step 1: Written/Video Test Youll be invited to complete a written and video-based exam. To move forward, you must score at least 70% in each section. Step 2: Physical Fitness Test Youll complete the following during our hiring process: 1.5-mile run in 17 minutes or less Plank hold for 30 seconds 10 push-ups (no rest breaks) At POST, youll also need to pass the Entrance Physical Fitness Test: 1.5-mile run: 16:11 or faster Vertical jump: 14.5 inches Plank: 30 seconds Push-ups: 14 minimum, no rest allowed Step 3: Oral Interview Top candidates who pass both tests will be invited for an in-person oral interview with our hiring panel. What Youll Do: As a Deputy Sheriff Corrections, youll support the safety and security of inmates at the Utah County Security Center. Duties include booking, housing, transportation, and inmate work programs. Pay Range: Deputy Sheriff I Corrections: $29.36 $32.94/hour Deputy Sheriff II Corrections: $30.74 $35.35/hour Schedule: Various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, on a rotating schedule. UTAH COUNTY IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER Assessor The Utah County Assessor's office is responsible for classifying all property in the county; in cooperation with the Recorder's office, associate ownership with the property; establishing a taxable value for all property subject to property taxation; and compiling this information into reports that are utilized by the Auditor's office to calculate tax rates and the Treasurer's office for collections. Attorney The County Attorney's Office protects Utah County by vigorously prosecuting and investigating crime, compassionately assisting crime victims, and by providing the highest quality legal representation to Utah County Government. Clerk/Auditor The County Auditor investigates all financial claims against the county and pays the bills. The Clerk Auditors Office examines the financial bonds kept by the other county officials to see that accurate and complete records are maintained. Conducts all elections in Utah county pertaining to county, state or national offices, and marriage licenses and passports are processed in the Clerk/Auditor Office. Recorder The County Recorder keeps the official records of the county, recording mortgages, deeds, and other documents involving property. The Recorder also maintains up-to-date maps which show current ownership of every section of land. Sheriff The County Sheriff is the law enforcement officer in the county and is responsible for the preservation of the peace. The Sheriff and deputies make arrests and prepare legal papers for Sheriff's sale. The Sheriff also oversees the County Jail. Surveyor The County Surveyor Office identifies and protects the section corner monuments that define record title (real property) interests. The Surveyor Office acts as a depository for all records of survey and is responsible for performing survey work for Utah County. Health The Utah County Health Department seeks to prevent avoidable disease and injury, and promote health by monitoring the health of the community, and assuring conditions in which people can be healthy. Information Systems The Information Systems department provides technology support to all Utah County government agencies. This support includes acquisition, deployment and management of computer-based workstations, software applications, local and wide-area network infrastructure, security, and information use policy. Children's Justice Center The Children's Justice Center is a homelike facility which serves children and families who are experiencing the crisis and chaos that comes with the disclosure of significant physical or sexual abuse of a child. Human Resources The County Human Resources Office provides full Human Resource services including payroll and benefits for approximately 1,200 Utah County employees. Justice Court The Utah County Justice Court is established by Utah County and has the authority to deal with class B and C misdemeanors, violations of ordinances, small claims, and infractions committed within County jurisdiction. Public Works The Utah County Public Works Department is a multi-service Department within County government operating in the areas of Administration, Buildings, Engineering, Mapping, Motor Pool, Parks, Roads, Special Projects, Surveying and Telecommunications.
