Tooling Mechanic Company: Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) Tooling & Emergent Operations Team has an exciting opportunity on their team in Berkeley, MO, for a Tooling Mechanic. Tooling Mechanic encompasses all of the duties of the following job classifications: Inspector Metrology, Inspector Tool & Die, Tool & Die Maker, Machinist All Around, Builder Mock-up and Tooling, Machinist General, Welder Tooling, Heat Treater Tool Room. Position Responsibilities: Fabricate, maintain, modify, & install various forms of tooling, such as production assembly jigs, engineering test fixtures, fabrication equipment, etc. in collaboration with engineering design teams, production operations, and production engineering Develop, prepare and maintain all documentation related to the design, fabrication, and usage of various tooling items and their respective associated calibration equipment Utilize manual equipment to fabricate or modify various tooling components (Examples: Bridgeport mill, manual lathe, surface grinder, drill press, etc.) Other responsibilities may include: Equipment Maintenance & Calibration, Blueprint Reading, CNC machining, Welding, Composites Modification, Tooling Inspection, Laser Tracking, and much more Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): 1+ years of experience working in a tooling, manufacturing or fabrication environment 1+ years of experience working CNC machining in a production environment Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Technical trade school certificate/degree (Or appropriate apprenticeship completion) High school graduate or GED 1+ years of experience in programming CNC machines Experience with CAD/CAM Software Experience using and setting up and operating Conventional Lathes, Mills, Surface Grinders and Numerical Control (NC) equipment Experience using precision measuring tools and equipment such as micrometers, calipers and dial indicators, etc. Drug Free Workplace: Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies. Additional Information: The selected candidate must be able to work any shift, as assigned. This is an hourly position governed by the IAM Collective Bargaining agreement. New Hires, as well as employees who transfer from non-union positions, may be required to attend some type of training upon their start. Once any required training has been completed all new employees will be considered on probation for a period of one hundred twenty (120) calendar days. Continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of the probationary period.
