Location New York, New York Shift: Day (United States of America) Description: We Create Advanced Pharmacy Practices At New York-Presbyterian, outstanding pharmaceutical care is integral to our success. Here, our Pharmacy Department is represented at the senior leadership level, which means direct pharmacy involvement in setting the strategic direction of our organization. Medication Safety (Corporate Positions Covering Medication Safety and Regulatory Compliance) Join our Regulatory Compliance, Medication Safety, and Quality Improvement Pharmacy team, where you will contribute to compliance with medication management regulations and patient safety across the health system. Responsibilities Ensure compliance with regulatory agency standards and laws including but not limited to United States Pharmacopeia (USP), The Joint Commission (TJC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), New York State Department of Health (NYS DOH), and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Ensure compliance with USP requirements and state and federal laws related to sterile and nonsterile compounding. Work collaboratively with pharmacy, nursing, and medical leadership to achieve compliance with medication management laws and regulations Ensure policies and practices reflect current laws and regulations Develop plans of action for noncompliance Oversee review and standardization of policies and procedures Skills Leadership: Proven leadership skills, including the ability to motivate and manage a team, delegate tasks, and resolve conflicts. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with staff, peers, and leadership. Problem-solving: Ability to identify and resolve issues related to medication safety, control substance compliance, and operational efficiency. Decision-making: Strong judgment and the ability to make sound decisions, particularly in situations involving controlled substances. Attention to detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in record-keeping, inventory management, and compliance with regulations. Financial Management: Basic understanding of financial management and budgeting skills. Knowledge: Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations, including DEA regulations, HIPAA, and other relevant laws, is essential. Familiarity with inventory management, dispensing procedures, and record-keeping is also crucial. Preferred Criteria PGY-1 and PGY-2 residency training 1-3 years of hospital regulatory and/or USP experience Required Criteria Completion of a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy degree or PharmD New York State licensure or eligibility for licensure required as a Pharmacist by the State of New York Required Criteria Completion of a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy degree or PharmD New York State Pharmacy License or eligibility to obtain license within 3 months Join a healthcare system where employee engagement is at an all-time high.
