This role supports all sections of the Clinical Outpatient Laboratory through proper phlebotomy techniques as well as proper specimen accessioning, processing, and related activities. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: High School, GED, or formal educational equivalent required. One (1) year of laboratory experience. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Proficient in following proper specimen collection procedures. Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate specimen labeling and documentation Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Familiarity with medical terminology and laboratory procedures Preferred Qualifications: One (1) year of experience working in a clinical laboratory or as a medical assistant and CPR, CAN, PBT, MLA, or CPT Certification. National Phlebotomy Certification (ex. ASCP, AMT, etc). Additional Information: Key Responsibilities: Greet patients and verify their identity. Collect blood samples by performing venipunctures and finger sticks. Label all samples according to outlined procedures and policies. Transport and package samples in accordance with policies. Follow all health and safety guidelines. Recognizes incorrect lab orders and corrects them. Follows correct centrifugation, collection, storage, and transport guidelines set forth in the test directory. Adheres to lab policies, HIPAA, and Universal Precautions.
