Full Job Description

The UMB Alternative Investments Support team provides support to the development of the software used by our Fund Accountants, external Alternative Investment client teams, and Investors to manage the investment portfolio. This robust software allows them competitive advantages within the Alternative Investments industry which continues to evolve and provides exciting opportunities for individuals to learn new skills, administer new tools, and grow their career. As a 4D Application Developer, you will be supporting, maintaining and developing enhancements for UMBs Alternative Investments 4D applications and various other business applications. In addition, you should also be willing to learn and support development of cloud-based Alternative Investments web applications and be ready to fully transition to new platform once all customers are migrated. You will work closely with the team to design and build enterprise-level solutions. You will look for ways to assist in improving development efficiency and implementing best practices. This is a subset of the overall responsibilities which involves other multiple initiatives as assigned by IT leadership. This role is hybrid (4 days on-site) for candidates in the Kansas City, MO and Ogden, UT metropolitan areas and open to qualified remote candidates outside of the Kansas City/Ogden area but only within the US. How youll spend your time: Developing enhancements/features on current Alternative Investments applications in 4D. Supporting, maintaining and upgrading 4D applications as needed. Learning cloud-based application architectures and best practices. As needed, assist in the design and implementation of cloud-based architecture including influencing the system architecture and platform design for multiple products/verticals. Deliver high-availability services and/or create responsive, performant, and maintainable websites including building scalable solutions in a cloud-based infrastructure using common design patterns and principles. Become a domain expert on the Alternative Investments business and systems. Assist in driving the teams technical strategy and direction including implementation of key coding principles. Provide mentorship to members of the team and help foster a learning environment. Were excited to talk with you if: You have at least 7 years of experience in a technical role supporting 4D applications and/or designing cloud-based technologies as a senior-level software engineer OR a bachelors degree in computer science, Information Systems, or similar discipline including at least 5 years of similar industry experience. You have strong understanding of building maintainable software systems. You have experience with relational and non-relational databases, and comfortable with writing performant SQL and NoSQL queries. You have a strong understanding of SDLC practices and CI/CD. Bonus Points If: You have experience building applications on cloud. You have experience building microservices applications. You have worked in an event driven architecture and/or with domain driven design. You have experience using Terraform with GitHub actions.
