Environmental Test Engineer (Experienced or Senior) Company: The Boeing Company The Boeing Company is looking for an Environmental Test Engineer to join our team in Berkeley, MO. The Boeing Test & Evaluation Thermal Test Engineering Labs support various defense, space and commercial programs. There are several areas of Environmental Test performed at this location which include: Airflow, Altitude, Fluids, Pressure, and Temperature, with an emphasis on Environmental Controls and Thermal Management Systems. This hands-on position will include all facets of the test lifecycle from test design, setup and execution to data review and final reporting. Examples of work performed in these areas include: designing tests to meet customer requirements, high temperature / high pressure test hardware design and configuration, fluid flow system design and configuration, mechanical and electrical systems design and configuration, control system development, and writing and executing LabVIEW software controls. Work is performed individually as well as in a group/team environment. Position Responsibilities: Develops and documents standardized test methods and processes to ensure repeatability and productivity Leads the development of test procedures Applies lessons learned to the improvement of test procedures Designs calibration system/test fixtures Develops data processing tools and algorithms Generates calibration procedures and software Guides others in the design of test hardware, software and systems to achieve test requirements Oversees debriefing of the test team. Leads the analysis, processing and formatting of data to customer requirements Approves test data prior to delivery to customer Formulates expectations for test data based on historical data Performs functions as required to ensure calibration system readiness and data validity Trains others Works under minimal direction Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement 3+ years of experience in complex test planning, development, and execution 3+ years of experience with lab test, flight test, or systems test Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Level 4: 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience Active U.S. security clearance Experience in mechanical, electrical or aerospace engineering Experience supporting the operation and maintenance of facility equipment such as pumps, valves, compressors, instrumentation, and heat exchangers Experience developing, troubleshooting procedures, diagnosing equipment for technical issues Experience with fluid flow/pressure drop principals, rotating machinery, and thermodynamics principals Experience with thermal management Drug Free Workplace: Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.
