Job Description: ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Prepare an average of 600+ sales and use tax returns monthly for level 1-2 clients, using established best practices and compliance standards. · Communicate regularly with clients via phone and email to address questions, provide updates, and maintain strong relationships. · Review client tax data for accuracy, investigate discrepancies, and take corrective action as needed. · Format and import monthly tax data into Vertex Indirect Tax Returns (VITR) software; experience with VITR is a plus. · Initiate and process electronic filings and payments, ensuring timely submission. · Provide support for online filings, payments, and notices, including responding to tax authority communications. · Collaborate with senior TPS staff to resolve complex issues and support higher-level filings. · Maintain and update client tax compliance reports and documentation. · Participate in structured mentoring and begin peer support activities. · Accommodate additional work hours during peak monthly processing periods (typically the 5th20th of each month). · Perform other duties and participate in projects as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: · This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities. · May provide informal peer support and guidance as part of structured mentoring activities. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: · Familiarity with standard tax compliance regulations for level 1-2 clients. · Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft tools; experience with VITR software is a plus. · Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage time and priorities effectively. · Excellent oral and written communication skills. · Customer-focused and results-oriented mindset. · Ability to work independently on routine tasks and collaboratively within a team. · Sound judgment and problem-solving skills. · Willingness to receive mentoring and begin supporting peers. EDUCATION AND TRAINING: ·Associates degree in accounting, business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience. 25 years of related experience in tax processing, accounting, or business. No certifications required; tax-related certifications are encouraged. Pay Transparency Statement: US Base Salary Range: $56,900.00 - $74,000.00 Base pay offered to new hires may vary based upon factors including relevant industry and job-related skills and experience, geographic location, and business needs.* The range displayed does not encompass the full potential of the role, which allows for further growth and career progression. In addition, as a part of our total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Vertex Bonus Plan (VOB), a role-specific sales commission/bonus, and/or equity grants.
