Role summary: The Specialist, Alarm Central, plays a critical role in monitoring and responding to security and safety alarms by coordinating appropriate responses, including dispatching patrols and alerting emergency services. This position involves continuous review of multiple systems to identify potential risks and managing communications related to safety events. The role requires adherence to company policies, maintaining confidentiality, and providing backup support as needed. The Specialist fosters strong collaborative relationships, upholds integrity, and contributes to a secure environment that supports operational excellence and the well-being of associates and customers. About the team: The Alarm Central team is essential in maintaining safety by promptly responding to fire, burglary, and panic alarms. They work closely with security patrols, emergency services, and associates to ensure protection across Walmart locations. The team monitors multiple systems to identify risks and coordinates timely actions. Emphasizing integrity, clear communication, and accountability, they support continuous improvement and innovation. Their dedication helps create a secure and dependable environment, enhancing the overall workplace and shopping experience for all. What you'll do: Investigate and respond promptly to alarms by dispatching security patrols or notifying emergency services as required. Assist associates during safety or security events, ensuring their well-being and travel security. Monitor multiple systems continuously to identify and assess potential risks. Coordinate corporate responses by distributing advisories and communications related to safety or security incidents. Compile and maintain detailed daily and incident reports in compliance with company policies. Provide backup and on-call security support as needed to maintain operational readiness. Uphold confidentiality of customer information and adhere strictly to legal and ethical standards. Ability to manage multiple information sources to identify potential risks and respond appropriately. Strong communication skills to effectively notify and coordinate with internal teams and external agencies.
