As a GNC Engineer: Algorithms Level 2 or Level 3 your role at Chandler, AZ will be pivotal in supporting missions critical to national and global security. Northrop Grumman's Space Systems Algorithms Group, within the Seeker/Tracking Algorithms team, is seeking motivated individuals to support the Glide Phase Interceptor (GPI) Program within the Launch Vehicle business unit. In this role, you will contribute to the development and implementation of advanced algorithms in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, collaborating with a diverse team to drive innovation and deliver mission-critical solutions. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and tackle a variety of challenging assignments while fostering collaboration across all organizational levels. This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off. In this job, you will: Design, develop, implement, verify, and test algorithms and simulation tools for guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) of aircraft, spacecraft, submersibles, surface ships, missiles, launch vehicles, and upper stages. Aply GNC solutions across all mission phases: powered flight, coast phases, launch, Earth orbit, interplanetary cruise, orbital insertion, and staging events. Perform navigation functions, including statistical processing of measured data points and integrating them into realistic simulation algorithms. Formulate guidance equations that achieve specific target positions, orientations, or orbital parameters. Design and analyze control systems, creating control laws and defining hardware and software requirements for aircraft, launch vehicles, and spacecraft. Conduct verification and testing to ensure algorithms and tools meet performance, reliability, and safety standards throughout the vehicle lifecycle. Basic Qualifications for Level 2: Bachelors degree with 2 years of professional experience OR Masters degree with 1 years of professional experience. Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance Knowledge in designing, implementing, and testing seeker discrimination and tracking algorithms Knowledge of Digital Signal Processing and Kalman Filtering Proficiency in creating and maintaining analysis tools in C++, MATLAB and Python Proficiency in C++ development in a Linux environment Proficiency in MATLAB and Python toolchains Basic Qualifications for Level 3: Bachelors degree with 5 years of professional experience OR Masters degree with 3 years of professional experience OR PhD with 1 year of professional experience. Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree. Northrop Grumman Total Rewards Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
