Participates in awareness activities at various conferences and events. Provides technical assistance to employers, educators, professionals, and family members of people with disabilities regarding assistive devices (e.g., their design, use, modification, maintenance, and repair). Documents and manages case information, develops plans and specifications for projects, completes evaluation reports, and communicates case progress. Maintains regular & reliable attendance, possesses a valid drivers license and travels independently, and works in a variety of settings. Working Conditions and Travel: This position requires approximately 35% of work time spent in an office environment; the remaining 65% is spent traveling or working in alternative sites as such as meetings and conferences throughout the community. There is also approximately two days of overnight travel per year. Requirements / Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in a related field and three years of experience related to the essential functions of the position. Any equivalent education and/or work experience may be substituted in order to meet the minimum qualifications of the position. Preferred Qualifications: Education in architecture, drafting, construction, or occupational therapy and physical therapy related fields. Experience providing home-related assistive technology and support to people with disabilities and their families, and designing environmental modifications and adaptive devices.
