We're searching for a skilled individual who excels in inspecting, repairing, modifying, and installing electrical equipment. Primary responsibilities include: Perform electrical system maintenance, repair, and inspections of existing facilities, covering approximately 550,000 sq. ft. of facilities and 49 buildings. Supervise two direct report employees. Act as the point of contact for the Facility Manager and Base Civil Engineer to ensure that engineering firms have designed new construction to commercial standards. Read and interpret blueprints/electrical schematics for hooking up pumps, motors, and electric valves to meet construction standards. Inspect buildings and assist in certification before acceptance from subcontractors. Independently lift and carry loads of up to 50 lbs over distances of up to 75 yards. Erect step and extension ladders to access roofs and equipment. Climb steps and ladders while carrying loads up to 25lbs. Perform confined space entry by harness into underground tanks. Operate in confined spaces such as ceilings or under machinery and equipment. Bend, stoop, and reach above, under, or around equipment being serviced. Be available for off-hour emergencies and scheduled work, requiring a valid State of Maine driver's license. Skills or knowledge required: Knowledge of the electrical trade's tools, materials, methods, and practices. Knowledge of the principles and theory of electricity. Knowledge of the electrical trade's occupational hazards and safety precautions, including HVelectrical systems. Ability to supervise subordinate personnel. Ability to plan, assign, and evaluate the work of others. Ability to conduct performance appraisals. Ability to interpret and work from sketches, diagrams, and blueprints. Ability to keep electronic records and files. Ability to estimate materials required for a job. Ability to detect and repair defects in various electrical systems and equipment. Minimum qualifications: A High School Diploma or equivalent and a current valid Master Electricians license as issued by the Electricians Examining Board and two (2) years experience at the Master level. Licensing/registration/certification requirements: A Maine Master Electricians license as issued by the Electricians Examining Board. Some positions may require a Certificate of Special Training in High Voltage work. May require a State of Maine Class C motor vehicle operators license.
