Pay Range: The base pay range for this position is $19.20-$29.75 Hourly however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Job Title: Phlebotomist Work Schedule for this Position: About the Team: The laboratory team assumes the willingness to be accountable for the well-being of the larger organization operating in service, rather than in control, of those around us. Position Overview: Provides adult and pediatric phlebotomy service to the inpatients and outpatients served by Pullman Regional Hospital. Orders and processes laboratory test and work closely with others in the laboratory to ensure immediate, courteous and comprehensive responses to requests for service or concerns about specimens and related matters. A Day in the Life: Participates in orientation and training of new members, and assists coworkers as needed. Demonstrates flexibility with the workflow to ensure self and coworkers have time to complete additional tasks. Demonstrates the ability to plan and prioritize tasks within time expectations; including but not limited to, monitoring supplies, organizing workload and prioritizing multiple activities. Seeks out organization information by participating, for example, in the daily huddle, reading emails and attending or watching the monthly All Staff Meetings. Educates healthcare providers and patients about laboratory orders and collection of specimens and actively engages the testing area of the laboratory, providing updates and specimen status. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills required for phlebotomy and specimen processing in accordance with the training checklist. Promotes the use of Comfort Care with pediatric patients. Must be able to pass a color-blind test or demonstrate alternative methods to seeing color is just as effective as seeing color. Demonstrates the ability to work independently and seeks to problem solve using available resource and demonstrates knowledge and understanding of specific laboratory testing requirements and special needs of varying patient populations. Ensures all of the appropriate information required for laboratory testing is accurate and available. About You! This Job is For You if You Have: High School diploma or equivalent. Completion of a phlebotomy program. Active certification through the state of Washington, or ability to obtain certificate. Demonstrates skill and knowledge consistent with clinical training and experience. Complies with all department/organization policies. Ability to manage time, tasks, and resources appropriately. Effective communication. Exemplify customer service when communicating with patients, providers, and peers (within the lab and hospital wide). Basic computer skills.
