Dietary Cook Full-Time San Francisco Post Acute San Francisco, CA Schedule: MondayFriday | 5:30 AM2:00 PM Pay: $22.00$22.50 per hour Employment Type: Full-Time About the Position San Francisco Post Acute is looking for a dependable and experienced Dietary Cook to join our healthcare team. The Dietary Cook is responsible for preparing nutritious, appealing meals for our residents while maintaining high standards for food safety, sanitation, and quality. Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook meals in large quantities according to established menus and recipes. Follow residents' special diets, therapeutic diets, and food preferences as directed. Prepare meals that are nutritious, appetizing, and served at the appropriate time. Follow proper food handling, storage, sanitation, and infection-control procedures. Monitor, document, and maintain appropriate food temperatures. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen and work environment. Assist with meal service, tray preparation, serving, and kitchen cleanup. Properly store and label food items and monitor food quality. Work closely with dietary staff, nursing, and other departments to meet residents' nutritional needs. Support the Dietary Supervisor and help maintain smooth kitchen operations when needed. Demonstrate a positive, respectful, and team-oriented approach with residents and coworkers. Qualifications Previous cooking experience required; healthcare or skilled nursing experience preferred. Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and safe food-handling practices. Ability to prepare meals in a high-volume environment. Ability to follow recipes, menus, and special diet instructions accurately. Reliable, punctual, and dependable. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Positive attitude and willingness to assist where needed. Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment.
