The Office of Admissions is seeking a creative, strategic Marketing Content Specialist to lead high-priority communication projects. In this role, youll take charge of developing impactful messages, producing persuasive copy, and designing engaging creative assets for diverse audiences across multiple platforms. What you'll do and what you'll bring: Position Function: The Marketing Content Specialist is an essential member of the Office of Admissions, playing a key role in developing compelling content to attract prospective students. This role is instrumental in shaping the voice of our marketing effortsfrom crafting persuasive copy to designing content across multiple platforms, including email, print, and web. The specialist will be at the center of both high-visibility campaigns and targeted communications, directly advancing our enrollment goals while ensuring all content is consistent with the Ball State brand and tone. Duties and Responsibilities: Plan, manage, and execute marketing campaigns that support each stage of the admissions funnelfrom lead generation through application, admission, and enrollment. Oversee projects from initial concept to final delivery, coordinating timelines, creative development, and stakeholder input. Ensure all campaign elements are strategically aligned with enrollment goals, tailored to the needs of prospective students and families, and consistent with the universitys brand and messaging standards Develop original, engaging, and brand-aligned content for a variety of platforms, including email print materials. This includes crafting persuasive, tone-appropriate copy and creating visual materials that effectively communicates with and recruits prospective students and their families. Create and maintain user-friendly, visually appealing, and brand-aligned web content that supports student recruitment and engagement efforts for the Office of Admissions and campus partners that includes original, persuasive, and tone-appropriate copy and visuals. Ensure all web content reflects the Universitys strategic goals, adheres to accessibility standards, and remains current, accurate, and consistent across departments. Collaborate closely with internal teams and campus partners to optimize user experience and support the evolving needs of higher education enrollment marketing. Effectively manage time and stay organized to balance multiple competing priorities, ensuring the timely completion of critical projects. Maintain a clear understanding of how each project aligns with the broader strategic goals of our division, the University, and campus partners. Consistently monitor production schedules and communicate proactively and transparently with supervisors and team members to keep everyone informed of progress. Maintain expertise in emerging design trends, evolving technologies, and best practices in higher education marketing. Proactively contribute innovative ideas, design approaches, and content strategies that position Ball State University as a leader in the industry, while continuously enhancing the effectiveness, relevance, and impact of marketing and recruitment communications. Support and attend Admissions events as needed; may require some evenings or weekends. Perform other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. At least two years of professional experience in advertising, marketing, communications, public relations, or related field. Demonstrated proficiency of high-quality, professional-level with copy-writing, editing, and design for print and digital projects. Excellent communication, organizational, time management, and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong creative and visual storytelling abilities. Proficient with technology, including design software (Adobe) and a comprehensive understanding of design principles. Basic understanding of HTML. Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree in Advertising, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field. Three or more years of professional communications and marketing experience, ideally in a university environment. Experience with a CRM and proficient in HTML.
