Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for an EW Antenna Responsible Engineer/Principal EW Antenna Responsible Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Melbourne, FL. **This position may be filled by either at the EW Antenna Responsible Engineer level OR at the Principal EW Antenna Responsible Engineer level based on the qualifications listed.** The EW Antenna RE reports to the Electronic Warfare System (EWS) Lead and will work under the supervision of the current Antenna Lead. Roles and Responsibilities: Learn about the Electronic Warfare System and become intimately familiar with the antenna hardware and design. Work closely with supporting teams of the overall supplier management team such as potentially working directly with the antenna supplier and subcontracts. Collaborate with cross functional teams such as RF, mechanical systems, and systems engineering to integrate new antenna suites onto platforms. Support any stage of the aircraft system life cycle activity such as preliminary design studies, primary design analysis, and integrated system design analysis. Support antenna integration, airworthiness activity, and testing of the system. Candidate must demonstrate technical understanding in the field of RF spectrum operations as well as knowledge of other related disciplines. The candidate must have effective communication skills and a demonstrated ability to clearly and concisely present technical information. The EW Antenna RE will frequently collaborate with technical leadership on subsystem performance verification including lab and off-site testing. The EW Antenna RE plays a critical role in the design, integration, testing, and performance optimization of antenna systems for electronic warfare applications. This includes state-of-the-art technologies to develop antennas used for defense systems, radar, jamming, and signal intelligence Basic Qualifications: EW Antenna Responsible Engineer (T02): Must have a Bachelors degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 2 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Masters degree in a (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 0 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. (STEM) AND 0 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering. Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company. Ability to design, model and/or calculate fundamental antenna characteristics Effectively demonstrate understanding of fundamental RF principles Basic Qualifications: Principal EW Antenna Responsible Engineer (T03): Must have a Bachelors degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 5 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Masters degree in a (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 3 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. (STEM) AND 0 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering. Ability to design, model and/or calculate fundamental antenna characteristics Effectively demonstrate understanding of fundamental RF principles Preferred Qualifications: Experience in electromagnetic theory Experience in RF propagation Experience in basic antenna principles Experience in EW concepts such as jamming, interference mitigation, and basic RCS Test experience in analyzing radiation patterns, VSWR, and impedance matching performance Familiarity with MIL-STD-461 Proficiency in MATLAB Hands-on experience with RF test equipment (e.g. Vector Network Analyzers / Spectrum Analyzers) Primary Level Salary Range: $77,200.00 - $115,800.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $95,300.00 - $142,900.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
