See how your contributions will help transform vision into reality: Position Overview: At Boateka of Merritt Island, we are seeking a Marine Detailer to help maintain and enhance the appearance and overall condition of our boats. This role focuses on cleaning, polishing, and restoring both the interior and exterior of vessels, including fiberglass, gel coat, and other marine surfaces, to ensure they meet high presentation and quality standards. This is a hands-on position that requires strong attention to detail, a passion for working with boats, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The Marine Detailer plays a key role in presenting boats at their best, ensuring each vessel is clean, polished, and ready to impress customers and support sales. At Brunswick, we have passion for our work and a distinct ability to deliver. Essential Functions: Clean, polish, and maintain boats using appropriate tools and cleaning agents. Perform high-quality detailing including waxing, stain removal, and oxidation treatment. Inspect boats for damage or wear in fiberglass components such as cracks, blisters, or delamination. Maintain cleanliness of boats on the sales lot and ensure presentation standards. Apply finishing touches such as gel coat or paint for aesthetic and durability. Follow all safety and quality standards, including chemical handling and PPE usage. Maintain and clean tools, equipment, and workspaces. Address unexpected challenges during detailing or repair using problem-solving skills. Learn to repair damaged fiberglass using sanding, patching, resin application, and gel coating. Perform other duties as assigned. Diversity of thought and experiences is fundamental when imagining the unimaginable. Certain skillsets/experiences are necessary; however, others can be developed along the way. Required Qualifications: Familiarity with marine detailing. Proficiency in using hand tools, pneumatic tools, buffers, sanders, Strong attention to detail and ability to assess quality of work. Ability to manage time effectively and multitask. Physical ability to work around boats for extended periods (up to 10 hours). Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs; overhead lifting may be required. Use of PPE including respirators, gloves, goggles, and chemical-resistant suits. Willingness to work in outdoor environments and adapt to weather conditions. Preferred Qualifications: Specialized training or certification in marine detailing. Experience with boat interiors including upholstery, carpets, and electronics. Knowledge of marine systems and structures (hulls, decks, internal components). Certifications from NMMA or similar organizations. Previous experience in marine related industries. Travel Requirements: This position does not typically require travel. Working Conditions: Works in proximity with team members in fiberglass surroundings. Exposed to hazardous materials, loud noise, extreme heat/cold, and rain. Works in non-A/C areas. Performs tasks that require sustained focus and attention to detail. Maintains consistency and quality across hands-on, detail-oriented work. Completes tasks requiring repetitive motion and sustained focus. Ascends and descends in and out of boats. Performs work at heights or on elevated platforms. Uses hearing protection as required when operating or working near loud equipment. The anticipated pay range for this position is $18.00-$22.00 hourly. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidates qualifications and the business context.
