With a career at Kewaunee Fabrications, you can expect: Competitive Pay based on experience starting rate $28.37 per hour. 2nd & 3rd Shift Premium of $1.00 per hour. Wage increases every 6 months until top pay, and then annually. Comprehensive benefits package effective after 30 days. Shift Overview This position is available for 2nd Shift. Monday Friday 3PM to 11PM with paid lunch, voluntary overtime before or after shift. Essential Functions Responsible for safe and efficient transport of materials and products to/from suppliers and customers. Assists in loading and unloading and positioning all loads on truck/trailer and ties down transported loads as well as perform periodic inspections during transport. Ensures vehicle and associated equipment is clean and in peak condition at all times. Performs preventive maintenance checks and notifies Manufacturing Supervisor of anything requiring follow up. Operates semi-truck with trailer according to state laws. Transports load over required route to proper destination, observing all traffic laws and safety regulations. Obtains shipping bills of lading and necessary signatures and returns completed paperwork to shipping office. Maintains any related records required. Acts as a Company representative while at customer premises and reports findings from customers as to situations which affect business relationships. As Company representative, maintains a neat and professional appearance and conduct self in a courteous manner at all times. Makes judgments as to safe operating conditions to permit vehicle operation. Every employee is expected to: Complete all required paperwork including labor reporting and documentation of quality control and material movement. Work safely and maintain the work area with high standards of housekeeping. Perform self-inspection and other required quality control functions at the employees workstation. Perform required Preventative Maintenance activities on machinery and/or equipment operated. Train and/or assist in the development of personnel. Perform other duties as assigned by Supervision. Required Qualifications Valid commercial license (CDL- Class A). Able to read and write with good mechanical aptitude. Works independently with periodic consultations with supervisor for general direction. An excellent driving record with valid CDL license and endorsements required by the Company. Requires high degree of attention and considerable dexterity in the control of tractor trailer and in preventing damage to transported materials and trucking equipment. Must meet WI Department of Transportation physical and medical requirements and pass substance abuse screening; is subject to random substance abuse screening. Lifting requirements: Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Lifting devices are available and recommended. Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Truck driving school certificate or equivalent. Works independently with periodic consultations with supervisor for general direction. An excellent driving record with valid CDL license and endorsements required by the Company.
