Location Queens, New York Shift: Night (United States of America) Description: Emergency Department Technicians (Patient Care Techs) Full Time Night At NewYork-Presbyterian Queens, ED Technicians thrive as invaluable care providers. As a designated 911 receiving hospital, our ED has achieved the highest distinction given by the American College of Surgeons and is now one of only a few Level I Trauma Centers in the New York region providing around-the-clock access to a trauma surgeon, operating room as well as every subspecialty of surgery available. As an ED Technician, you will provide compassionate basic patient care and assist with daily living activities under the direction of a Registered Nurse. You will collect data elements and communicate observations and information obtained using various methods and tools to the Registered Nurse (including but not limited to vital signs, surveillance of telemetry, perform EKGs, glucose by finger stick). Improve the patient experience and maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment. Demonstrate what it means to be part of a team and raise the bar for patient care. This is a Full Time Night Shift (37.5 hrs/wk; 11PM - 7AM) position at NYP/Queens Hospital. Every weekend is required for the first 2 years of employment. Required Criteria High School Diploma or Equivalency Current BLS certification from American Heart Association required PRIOR to start date At least one (1) year experience as an EKG Technician, Nursing Attendant or equivalent Nursing Attendant certification or previous experience in similar or comparable position required Certification in one of the following required: EKG/Arrhythmia certificate Medical technician certificate EMT/ Paramedic certificate Must achieve competency in all performance functions (i.e. Telemetry, phlebotomy,) within probationary period Join a healthcare system where employee engagement is at an all-time high.
