The Department of Population and Public Health Sciences, Division of Environmental Health is seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish), dependable, flexible, and detail-oriented individual to assist in a research study called the Maternal and Developmental Risks from Environmental and Social Stressors (MADRES) Study. The study is investigating the effects of air pollutants, chemicals, and stress on maternal and child health outcomes. Employment involves (1) completing survey questionnaires by phone in English and Spanish; (2) reviewing questionnaire responses from participants (3) entering data into computer databases; (4) scheduling appointments for research visits with participants and conducting research visits to conduct study procedures; (5) collecting biological specimens from participants; (6) assisting with creation of reports, study documents, and questionnaires; (7) consenting participants in Spanish and English and explaining to participants how to complete the study procedures; (8) providing administrative support to the research study staff and the study manager; and (9) other duties as assigned. Fluent Spanish and English writing and speaking skills are required, as is the ability to work well with different groups, including research faculty and staff. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational capabilities, problem-solving skills, and a demonstrated ability to work independently while managing multiple projects. Flexible working hours including evenings and weekends is essential. Prior experience in a research environment is preferred. Bachelors degree in health-related field or equivalent experience preferred. The hourly rate range for this position is $32.01.
