Job Summary The Data Scientist works closely with the CMIO, the Manager of Data Intelligence and other staff to facilitate the design, development and execution of an organization-wide analytics program with a focus on capturing, analyzing and leveraging critical patient and financial data that will be used to positively impact care outcomes, cost and value and support innovation and research activities. Responsible for monitoring data quality and for analyzing data using appropriate statistical tools. Pay Range Minimum $104,832 Midpoint $138,902 Maximum $172,973 Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements. Experience Required: Minimum three (3) years of experience in healthcare analytics or equivalent experience in a similar subject area. Applicants without working experience but are completing a PhD program in a data science area will be considered. Preferred: Direct involvement in warehousing and reporting of clinical data derived from an EHR. Experience with Cerner's EHR and database structure highly desired. Industry experience in other fields. Education Required: Masters or Ph.D. in Computer Science, or related field. Preferred: PhD in Computer Science, MD or other Ph.D. with an additional degree or formal training in Analytics, Healthcare Informatics, Computer Science, or related field. Training Required: Must demonstrate knowledge of electronic medical record technology. Have familiarity manipulating and analyzing high-volume, high-dimension data from varying sources. Preferred: Familiarity with genomic data. Specialized Skills Required: Deep knowledge of statistics. Knowledge in software development processes and tools. Experience working with a specific programming language (i.e. - SQL, C, C++, C#, Java, PHP, Python). Strong verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal relationship and collaboration skills. Excellent analytical and organization skills; excellent critical thinking, judgment, and problem-solving skills. Preferred: Experience working with Big Data tools like Hadoop Experience with McKesson Horizon Performance Manager and Business Insight. Licensure Required: None required.
