Machine Operator I- 2nd Shift

While reporting to the production shift supervisor, you will be responsible for working on the production line and ensuring the production of a quality product in a safe working environment. Excellent attendance is crucial for the team to achieve success . You must have the ability to work with various teams and have a good eye to spot defects in the product or process. What you will be doing: Being able to work at a fast pace Removing product from the line and visually inspecting to assure quality standards Maintaining a safe, clean and organized work area. Assist with machine set-up procedures Ensure correct paper is set up Assist with starting of machine and monitor operational problems. Performing all duties in support of Sonocos quality and safety policies. Helping out in other departments as needed, including but not limited to the palletizing, labeling and warehouse areas. We would like for you to have at least 1 year in a manufacturing/warehouse environment (Field work is okay) You have to have a get it done attitude. To succeed in this role you will need excellent written and verbal communication skills Working independently and managing multiple tasks simultaneously is needed. Being reliable, having good initiative, being committed, and being quality focused is a must. You will need to be able to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed. Having the ability to effectively work with a team in a fast-paced environment is crucial to success. You will need to have the ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions. You will need to able to perform repetitive duties, including going up and down stairs and standing for long periods of time. You will need to have the ability to work quickly while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail. Must be willing to work outside of regular shift hours including weekends if production or customer demands require it.
