Job Description Title: Sr. Electrical Engineer Pioneer the next generation of innovation. Position Summary: This position performs engineering work related to research, designing, and development of new products and interfacing the control systems related to Genset operation. Functions include: Key Accountabilities: Be the architect for control system platforms Leverage global knowledge base to support R&D developments and customized deployments Design interfaces between various proprietary hardware (ECUs, Gen control panels, PLCs, HMIs) Develop special customer applications with MTU controls system Design controls system for R&D programs Interface electrical and mechanical applications and systems with the MTU controls system Work directly with controls and governor manufacturers to improve functionality and mitigate issues Specify, design, validate, and maintain MTU control systems Hardware responsibilities: voltage regulators, control panels, engine ECUs, PLCs, and other protective relays Work within a global electrical engineering organization and co-ordinate with global team in respective projects Assist all areas of company with controls related issues Devise strategic plans for problem resolutions using facts and gathered data Involve in development and validation of special customer projects and as required. Basic Requirements: Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S without sponsorship. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time Bachelors degree in engineering and 5 years of experience in Genset manufacturing or similar industry; or 9 years of relevant experience Ability to travel to customer and manufactures sites Preferred Qualifications: Dependable, Creative, Versatile, Flexible and Team Orientated Programming: PLC and structure text programming, scripted languages, Boolean/digital logic. Device communication: TCP-IP, Modbus, OPC UA and CAN bus Power systems: fundamentals, paralleling system management, power electronics Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints, line drawings and ladder diagrams Devise strategic plans for problem resolutions using facts and gathered data Rolls-Royce is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
