Working at our Beavercreek Site GE Aerospace operations have been part of the Beavercreek community for over 75 years! Our Beavercreek facility on Research Blvd. manufactures gas turbine tubes, ducts, and manifolds, and also has complex machining, fabrication and investment casting capabilities. Product engineering, new product development and testing is performed on site. This facility also does repair and overhaul of tubes, ducts, and manifolds. Our location on Heller drive manufactures turbine airfoils and has a focus on next generation technology. We have been awarded OSHASs highest safety rating. Role Overview TIG Welder In this role, you will: Execute all manufacturing work with a rigorous focus on safety, quality, and the critical nature of aircraft parts Weld metal components as specified by layouts, blueprints, diagrams, or manufacturing operations sheets (MOS), using TIG welding equipment Set up and connect cables from the welding unit to obtain amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse as specified Manually guide torch along weld lines, maintaining arc length and travel speed to achieve the required fusion and bead, using visual and audible cues from the weld Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions Examine welds to confirm bead size and conformance to specifications Manually apply filler rod, clean weld joints and workpieces, and prepare rework parts for welding Position or clamp workpieces together, or assemble them in jigs/fixtures; may tack assemblies together Use a computer daily to check email and view/download shop drawings and work instructions Crosstrain to work in all areas of the team and run other processes as production needs require Train other team members on standard work and machine operation as needed Assist in other areas as needed and directed by People Leader The Ideal Candidate In this role, youll use your skills every day to help us deliver safe, highquality products on time, at the right cost: You show up reliably, your team counts on you Youre willing to learn multiple roles to support the team Maintain focus and discipline on the shop floor, avoiding distractions to ensure safe, high-quality, and on-time production. Execute all manufacturing work with a rigorous focus on safety, quality, and the critical nature of aircraft parts. Follow all safety rules when using and maintaining shop equipment; pass and maintain required vision testing Use basic and shop math (fractions, decimals, whole numbers) to support accurate, precise work Read and apply technical information and blueprints to produce highquality parts Use standard measuring tools (manual calipers, micrometers) to verify dimensions and prevent defects Follow written, verbal, and visual instructions to complete work on time and support ontime delivery Use tools and materials responsibly, help reduce scrap and rework, and raise issues early to support continuous improvement in safety, quality, and delivery (SQD) Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED Successful completion of a TIG welding training course (formal program), or previous TIG welding experience (minimum 6 months) Successful completion of the UnisonDayton TIG Welding Assessment This role may encounter high risk or hazardous operations and/or include working shifts beyond a standard workweek. As such, a requirement of the role is to be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining. Preferred Qualifications Teamoriented, professional approach to working with peers and leaders Demonstrated pride in workmanship and commitment to quality Strong attendance and punctuality record, with availability to work overtime as needed Ability to make decisions based on approved work instructions, experience, and available data Drive to meet or exceed job requirements and performance expectations Ability to work effectively under general supervision, including performing routine assignments independently Ability to carry out operations according to set procedures or sequences Willingness to receive and act on constructive feedback Additional Information Wages: $24.10 $30.00 per hour based on experience Additional $1.50/hour premium for 3rd shift Ability to lift up to 40 pounds; may occasionally lift up to 50 pounds (with assistance) Strong safety focus with daily and monthly reviews; site has been awarded OSHAs highest safety rating Most protective gear provided, including hearing protection as needed; GE Aerospace provides a $125 voucher for safety shoes and a voucher for prescription safety glasses if needed Work in and around moving equipment such as standup forklifts, mobile carts, and cranes; normal machining operations may generate dust, fumes, or smoke (not over OSHA permissible exposure levels) Teamoriented environment with opportunities to share ideas and make recommendations with peers and leadership Work may involve standing in one place for extended periods, walking, and climbing stairs; most areas are climatecontrolled Our Culture We strive to keep a safe, highperforming, and enjoyable shop atmosphere while maintaining the highest level of quality output.
