STV is seeking a Transportation Engineering Specialist to support transportation and infrastructure projects in Franklin or Chattanooga, Tennessee. This role is ideal for a degreed EIT-level engineer with a solid foundation in transportation and infrastructure design who is ready to apply professional judgment, contribute technically across disciplines, and grow within a nationally respected, employee-owned firm. The position focuses on planning, organizing, and developing engineering activities related to the design, construction, and maintenance of transportation and civil infrastructure systems. Key Responsibilities Plan and conduct engineering work requiring professional judgment in the evaluation, selection, application, and adaptation of engineering techniques and criteria Support the design and development of transportation infrastructure including roadways, bridges, rail, pipelines, and water/wastewater systems Prepare and modify engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, exhibits, charts, and technical documentation Apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and design criteria to a sequence of related design tasks Assist with interdisciplinary coordination across transportation, structural, traffic, and geotechnical engineering teams Monitor engineering work for compliance with applicable codes, standards, and accepted engineering practices Assist in developing solutions to moderately complex engineering problems and contribute to new or improved technical approaches Apply STV policies, procedures, and quality standards in the execution of engineering tasks Coordinate internally with project managers and technical leads; may have limited external client or agency interaction Job Complexity & Supervision Job Complexity: Works on problems of moderate scope Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate actions Applies professional engineering concepts while following established methodologies Supervision: Receives general instructions on routine assignments Receives detailed guidance on new or complex projects Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and adherence to standards Qualifications Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required Minimum 3 years of related engineering experience, preferably in transportation or civil infrastructure Working knowledge of engineering design principles and transportation-related standards Experience preparing engineering calculations, plans, and technical documentation Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary, team-oriented environment Compensation Range: $65,126.50 - $86,835.34 Dont meet every single requirement?
