Job Description Senior Electronic Design Engineer / Electronic Application Engineer Location: Grand Rapids, MI GE Aerospace is seeking a Senior Electronic Design Engineer / Electronic Application Engineer to lead the development of cutting-edge electronic products for aerospace applications. This role offers the opportunity to work with emerging technologies, drive innovation, and deliver high-quality solutions to meet the needs of our customers. With 8-10 years of design experience in electronic design, custom logic design, and/or software development, you will play a pivotal role in advancing next-generation aerospace platforms. Responsibilities: Lead bids, proposals, product concepts, and initial design solutions for new electronic products. Drive strategic technology planning for the Platform Hardware organization. Develop multi-generational product plans with a focus on electronic design initiatives. Implement concept designs on Independent Research and Development (IRAD) projects. Apply design expertise to existing programs incorporating new technologies. Provide technical leadership and expertise in new business pursuits with aerospace customers. Ensure effective project startup, focusing on initial implementation of product or design concepts. Demonstrate superior technical expertise, assisting in hands-on design problem-solving and mentoring. Key Technical Focus Areas: Circuit design and analysis. Electromagnetic interference (EMI) mitigation and cross-talk reduction. Time domain design considerations and frequency domain filtering. Transmission line effects and signal integrity analysis. Printed circuit board (PCB) via structures and routing constraints. Component selection and component derating. Built-in-test (BIT) implementation. Impedance matching, voltage drop analysis, and power regulation. Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Electronics Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent. 8-10 years of design experience in electronic design. Proven experience in electronic product development. Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing skills. Excellent organizational, written, and presentation skills. Lean mindset with a focus on continuous improvement. Eligibility Requirements: This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens. GE will require proof of status prior to employment. Desired Characteristics: Masters degree in engineering. Knowledge and experience in complex avionics systems development. Cross-domain design expertise in electronic design, custom logic design, and/or software development. Direct customer engagement experience. Experience designing microprocessor-based systems. Expertise in EMC, thermal testing, and/or product qualification. Ability to partner and drive alignment across matrixed organizations. Familiarity with Earned Value and Activity-Based Management methods. The base pay range for this position is $121,500.00 - $162,100.00. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidates experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on 8/01/2025.
