About the Role This Cell Isolation Specialist position is part of the Clinical Laboratory Department which encompasses both the Clinical Safety Laboratory as well as the Cell Isolation and Cryopreservation Laboratory. The primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to, applying, and performing cell isolation methodologies as well as cryopreservation, preparing and accessioning clinical lab specimens and, the maintenance of records and lab equipment. In addition, this position is expected to participate in and contribute to the continuous improvement initiatives as it relates to areas like Quality Assurance, interpersonal & interdepartmental collaboration, and communication and, safety protocols. This Cell Isolation Specialist is expected to serve as a role model for new and less experienced team members, exemplifying professionalism, and strong work ethic. What You'll Do Here Enter all pertinent information from the requisition into the computer correctly. Enters "special handling" and/or frozen requisitions. When handling frozen samples, will set up work areas by retrieving dry ice, ice chests, racks, and stickers. Accessioners will also be responsible for signing for the integrity of frozen specimens, received from the couriers. At the end of each night, the accessioners will deliver the specimens to the appropriate departments. Take complete inventory of contents of envelope. Ensure that test requisitions are properly filled out. Ensure that work area is properly maintained and is neat and clean. Wear protective gear when handling specimens (lab coat, protective eye wear, gloves, etc.) Observe safety guidelines and procedures as established by laboratory management as required by law. Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Supervisor or Lead. Other duties may include handling stats, training new Accessioners, or other specific nightly duties associated with the Accessioning Department. What You'll Need to Succeed Associates degree or higher in a field related to health science preferred Current IATA certification required Clinical research lab experience 2 year, minimum Complete all job description specific training within 30 days of hire or promotion Attend the external training sessions/seminars for personal development Requires a thorough knowledge of the following: Drug development process Clinical trial management Clinical monitoring FDA regulations and ICH Guidelines Knowledge of the EU Clinical Trial Directive is a plus What We Offer The pay range estimated for this position is $22 - $25 hourly. Please note that hourly rates/salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, prior relevant experience, skills, education, certification, location as well as internal equity and market data.
