Annual Salary: $40,579.50 - $42,900.00 Hourly: $20.81 - $22.00 Department: Culture & Recreation, Grounds Maintenance Division: Park & Landscape Maintenance FLSA: Non-Exempt Job Description: In this role, you will assist in the maintenance of public parks, property or rights-of-way using a variety of machines, tools and equipment, and lead the crew in the absence of the Crew Leader. Examples of Duties: Instructs other members of crews in proper operational procedures and techniques. Assists the Crew Leader in coordinating the tasks to be performed by the crew; supervises the crew in the absence of the Crew Leader. Operates city vehicles and equipment, to include trucks and trailers. May requisition or purchase supplies and equipment. Cuts lawns. Trims and edges around walks, flower beds, and walls. Prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth or remove damaged leaves, branches, or twigs. Sprays lawn, shrubs, and trees with fertilizer, herbicides, and insecticides. Cleans grounds and removes litter. Cleans out drainage ditches and culverts. Makes minor on-site repairs to equipment such as lawn mower, spreader, and weed trimming equipment; sharpens tools such as weed cutters, edging tools, and shears. Receives instruction and training in proper safety precautions, use of tools, etc. required in maintenance. Performs any other related duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications: Two years of experience High school diploma/GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience Valid state issued driver's license.
