In this Part Time Retail Pharmacy Technician position at Banner North Colorado Medical Center, you will be responsible for order entry and will need to be familiar with third party adjudication, fill quickly and accurately, and be able to stock, outdate, and serve customers. You must be able to get along with others and have excellent communication skills at the register and on the phone. The Pharmacy is open from 7:30AM to 7PM Monday to Friday, and weekends 8AM to 5PM. Currently the team is working every other weekend, this could be subject to change. You will work 2 - 3 days per week, with a mix of opening (at 7:30AM) or closing (until 7:15PM) and weekend shifts. Enjoy a flat rate $1/hour weekend shift differential and an 18%-night shift differential when applicable. Recruiter to provide details of the sign-on bonus during the interview process. Clinical Pharmacy Services is responsible for the management of the Banner formulary, development of standardized system wide clinical pharmacy services, and management of adverse drug event preventions. Clinical Pharmacy Services provides collaborative drug therapy management and educational interventions in patient care to optimize medication therapy, improve outcomes, promote wellness, and disease prevention. As a division, Banner Pharmacy services provides excellent patient care across our entire continuum through convenient access, improved medication outcomes and innovative pharmacy practices. POSITION SUMMARY This position will prepare, dispense, and compound medication under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Provide prescription support services for patients to ensure safe, appropriate, effective and efficient delivery of medication therapy. Provide excellent customer service skills, high attention to detail, strong problem solving, documentation and computer skills. Work closely with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to support pharmaceutical care activities, complete pharmacy billing activities, record keeping, reporting, inventory management, and arrange appropriate medication delivery. CORE FUNCTIONS 1. Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, review and interpret prescriptions. 2. Prepare and dispense appropriate amount of medication under supervision of a pharmacist. Deliver medications accurately to the patient. 3. Answer phones, accept prescriptions, and may communicate with patients in waiting area. 4. Assist with inventory, maintain a clean work environment, and assist with any other administrative duties as assigned by supervising pharmacists or senior technicians. 5. Follow policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements and perform other work assignments MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Requires Pharmacy Technician licensure and active Pharmacy Technician certification OR Pharmacy Intern licensure in the state of practice. Incumbents in Arizona are also required to provide the AZ Board of Pharmacy Wallet Card at time of hire. Minimal experience, typically gained through 0-2 years relevant work experience. Ability to attend and successfully complete 160 hours of on the job training required. Strong customer service focus, superior problem-solving abilities. Ability to complete moderate to difficult mathematical calculations using a hand-held calculator is required. BSS Registry Team members and Travelers are not eligible to drive on behalf of Banner and are not required to possess a valid drivers license or be eligible for coverage under the companys auto insurance policy. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Associates or bachelors degree in related field preferred. Proficiency and experience with third party claims adjudication and claims rejection reconciliation preferred. Proficiency and experience with non-sterile, sterile and hazardous drug compounding preferred. Work experience which demonstrates analytical ability, judgment and interpersonal skills in pharmacy or healthcare preferred. Experience and proficiency with computer software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) or comparable program. Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
