Waste Connections of Washington, Inc. is searching for a Recycling Advocate to join our team in Vancouver, WA. Shift is Monday Friday. Start time 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM Wage range is $23.50/hour Safety Sensitive: Yes Job Description: The Recycling Advocate is a position created as part of our contractual obligations with the City of Vancouver and will focus on our new curbside contamination reduction plan. This position will visit residential homes and apartment complexes to spread educational recycling awareness and work to improve overall quality of recyclable materials in Clark County. Visiting assigned areas on collection day and placing informational tags on recycling & organics carts. Delivering educational materials, inventorying, and surveying at apartment complexes. Accurately collecting data and other information. Responding to questions and concerns of the public in a professional, friendly, and respectful manner. Tabling at events on the weekends and assisting other staff with small projects. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Familiarity with the Clark County region and recycling practices. Working knowledge of applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Working knowledge of applications such as Google Drive, Docs, Sheets and Forms. Ability to make judgement calls to maintain safety while walking and driving along streets. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to walk long distances and up and down numerous flights of stairs. Ability to drive a vehicle for long durations of time. Ability to lift up to 25lb-boxes and other equipment using proper lifting techniques. Must have a valid driver's license, proof of auto insurance, and a good driving record. Safety sensitive position; offer of employment dependent on eligible background check, eligible motor vehicle report and clean drug panel screening . Logistics: 40 hour work-week.
