Full Job Description

Job Profile Summary Under the leadership of the Associate Dean of Student Services, this position implements the vision of the campus as it relates to admissions and registration and/or academic advising. The Supervisor, Student Services provides daily supervision of the full-time and part-time clerical staff and admissions officers ensuring quality customer service to students. This position also manages projects and activities related to the daily operations of each of the above departments. Along with the associate dean of student services, the Supervisor facilitates the implementation of policies and procedures related to the office of Admissions and Registration and/or Academic Advising. This position is responsible for the department in the absence of the associate dean. Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree required. Minimum Experience/Training: Five years Admissions/ Registration experience and/or academic advising experience, preferably in a community college setting. Three years supervisory or lead experience required. Essential Functions: Other - 5%: Plans and coordinates complex administrative assignments and special projects within and/or across operating units; gathers, organizes, and assesses information, and develops and prepares recommendations (i.e. develops and maintains transcript resource notebook as well as an immigration resource). Daily - 10%: Oversees the supervision of assigned personnel, which includes work allocation, training, and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance. Monthly - 5%: Assists in developing and implementing polices/procedures related to admissions and registration and/or academic advising. Daily - 5%: Serves as administrative liaison and coordinates interaction between department operating units, other college departments and programs, and/or external agencies, as appropriate. Daily - 10%: Works with students and resolves student admissions, registration and academic advising discrepancies. Daily - 20%: Researches information as necessary to respond to inquiries or address specific applicant/student issues. Weekly - 5%: Oversees records management of both permanent and nonpermanent records. Daily - 25%: Performs administrative duties in the management of day to day operations, (i.e. purchasing, staff scheduling, supervision of staff.) Ensures functionality of office equipment. Daily - 5%: Serves as a liaison between the various departments in student services in order to improve services across the division. Other - 5%: Acts as lead staff in the absence of the Associate Dean. Other - 5%: Performs all duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of technology used in educational programs and services, including to but not limited to student information system and web-based information systems.
