Job Description Test and Measurement Software Engineer Duration: Permanent Location: Indianapolis, IN (Onsite) Why join Rolls-Royce? Position Summary: As a Test and Measurement Software Engineer for Rolls-Royce, youll provide the capability to test products at system, sub system, module and component level, collecting and validating data to support the verification of product designs. The Software and Data Systems group is responsible for bringing new test capability to Rolls-Royce and for maintaining reliable test equipment that Rolls-Royce depends on to pass certification and development testing. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a complex testing environment that will provide challenges with clear deadlines and unclear paths of how to get to the end result. What youll be doing: Maintaining and developing in-house developed Data Acquisition System (DAS) and Universal Monitor and Control System (UMACS) Interfacing UMACS to external devices such as an in-house developed data system and Allen-Bradley PLCs Providing support for Gas Turbine and Component Test Stands Promoting and maintaining a safe working environment Applying technical principles, theories, and concepts to develop solutions to complex problems Representing the company to external stakeholders as the authority of their test programs Who were looking for: Strong interpersonal skills, intellectual curiosity and the ability to solve problems using analytical and critical thinking Demonstrated ability to identify a problem and scope a task Experience in C or C++ Preferred Qualifications (but not required): Experience with PLCs Process control experience Proficiency in Linux operating systems Our behaviors drive us - we put safety first, do the right thing, keep it simple and make a difference.
