Zayos communications infrastructure solutions include dark fiber, private data networks, wavelengths, Ethernet, and dedicated Internet access. Zayo serves wireless and wireline carriers, media, tech, content, finance, healthcare and other large enterprises. Zayo is seeking a Senior Account Manager to support both existing as well as prospective SLED accounts in need of Zayo fiber infrastructure and connectivity services. The Senior Account Manager will be a strategic business developer who identifies, shapes, and secures new opportunities well before RFPs hit the street, particularly in the public sector and education markets. This individual will leverage a strong understanding of the E-rate process, along with deep knowledge of state procurement and funding cycles, to position Zayo early in the buying process and establish preference before formal solicitations are issued. A demonstrated ability to succeed in an autonomous environment is key to this role. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of the full suite of telecommunication services including fiber & network connectivity, managed services, security & voice communications with the ability to work on large, complex deals applying a consultative and trusted advisor approach. Location: This remote work opportunity will consider applicants that reside in the Boston, MA metro area. Responsibilities: Proactively develop opportunities ahead of formal RFPs by engaging district technology leaders, E-rate consultants, and state education consortia to shape project scope and requirements. Leverage a deep understanding of the E-rate program (FCC Form 470/471 process) to help customers align technology plans and funding strategies with Zayos service capabilities. Build and maintain strategic relationships with IT, procurement, and administrative leaders across State, Local, and Education entities. Generate new sales revenue by promoting Zayos infrastructure and managed solutions across assigned territories. Present customized proposals and manage customers through a strategic and consultative sales cycle. Maintain existing business through renewals and long-term contracts while driving net-new growth. Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Solutions Architecture, and Legal to design tailored network and managed service solutions. Accurately track activities, forecasts, and funnel development in Salesforce and related systems. Deliver consistent sales performance against quarterly and annual revenue targets. Represent Zayo at regional education and public sector events, building visibility within key cooperative and consortium programs (e.g., ESCs, Equalis, DIR, TIPS). Qualifications: Bachelors degree or equivalent from four-year College; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of five (5) years experience solution selling into large SLED Accounts Demonstrated expertise in the E-rate program and ability to align Zayos services with funding cycles, RFP timelines, and eligible service categories. Proven success developing opportunities before procurement begins, shaping specifications, and influencing project design. Familiarity with state contract vehicles, cooperative purchasing programs, and education consortiums. Demonstrated success & consistency in achieving targeted sales goals Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Exceptional customer service and relationship building / maintaining skills Thorough understanding of account management & the strategic selling process Effective problem solving and interpersonal skills Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; Salesforce a plus Complete understanding of Zayo Networks value proposition, products and services such as Ethernet, OCN, IP transport, Dark Fiber, custom access, and colocation. Estimated base salary range: $90,00 - $110,000 USD/annually. #LI-REMOTE The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
