The Server supports the efforts of Amherst College Dining Services in providing the diverse campus community with excellent service and production of our menus. This position assists the culinary team with the production and implementation of menu items. This individual takes appropriate actions to support a diverse workforce and participates in the Colleges efforts to build a respectful, inclusive, and welcoming work environment. The Dining Services Server, having knowledge of all ingredients, is committed to accuracy and excellent customer service. The Server works on the food lines and/or other service areas as assigned. Ensures all food items, accurate serving utensils, and menu signage are ready for service; and cleans the line during and after service. Work schedule varies based on College needs, requiring flexibility and extended shifts. All Dining Services employees are responsible for understanding and implementing established food safety procedures and allergen prevention protocols. Team members must actively support and respond appropriately to individuals with food allergies to ensure a safe dining experience for all community members. Employees are expected to apply the knowledge and procedures covered in mandatory training sessions in the course of their daily duties. Maintaining these safety standards is essential to protect the health and well-being of our students, guests, and colleagues. Summary of Responsibilities: Set up food lines with the needed utensils and equipment prior to meal service. - Call for all needed items to the culinary team. - Deliver outstanding customer service to our diverse College Campus Community - Serve entrees and sides to our guests, clean and maintain serving areas. - Effectively collaborate with a diverse group of colleagues and students - Retrieve supplies and restock necessary food items for the food stations. - Regularly checking your amherst.edu email is required to stay up to date on college-wide and departmental communications.
