Equifax is where you can power your possible. If you want to achieve your true potential, chart new paths, develop new skills, collaborate with bright minds, and make a meaningful impact, we want to hear from you. The Public Safety Account Executive will be responsible for strategic relationship management and development to drive revenue growth for an assigned book of business targeting State and Local Government, Law Enforcement, and Public Safety agencies. This is not a traditional sales role; it is a strategic consulting position for a creative problem-solver. In this role, you wont just be selling a productoften, your public sector customers already want the solution. Your challenge is to act as a trusted partner to help them navigate the complex path to procurement. You will identify agency-specific problems, map our solutions to those needs, and strategically engineer the financial and budgetary pathways (grants, budget cycles, creative funding) required to get the deal across the finish line. This role demands a curious, hungry, and strategic thinker capable of navigating complex government landscapes and funding mechanisms. **This position is based in the Louisville area on a hybrid schedule (in-office Tuesday through Thursday) to facilitate seamless onboarding and active collaboration with the broader Public Safety team primarily located in this office ** What Youll Do Navigate Complex Procurement & Funding: Go beyond "selling" features to help customers figure out how to buy. Identify creative funding sources, grant opportunities, and budget structures (e.g., breaking costs down to fit specific budget cycles) to make procurement possible. Proactive Problem Identification: Don't just wait for RFPs. Actively research and identify pain points within states (e.g., payment processing issues, legislative mandates) and proactively approach stakeholders with tailored solutions. Strategic Account Planning: Develop and execute strategic plans that focus on aligning our solutions with the customer's fiscal and operational realities. Build Trusted Partnerships: Foster collaborative relationships with key decision-makers, acting as an advisor who helps them solve internal funding and implementation hurdles. Internal Collaboration: Work closely with Government Relations (GR) and internal stakeholders to understand the political landscape and identify opportunities where our solutions align with public policy or state-level initiatives. Pipeline & Deal Management: Develop and manage the sales pipeline, ensuring accurate forecasting while understanding the nuances of government timing and fiscal years. Consultative Closing: Negotiate contracts and pricing by focusing on value alignment and fiscal feasibility for the client. What Experience You Need Education: BS or BA in Business Administration, Communications, or related field, or equivalent experience. Enterprise Sales Experience: 5-10 years of experience in enterprise sales, with a distinct preference for consultative or solution-based selling. Strategic & Financial Acumen: Proven ability to "think outside the box" regarding deal structure. Experience helping clients find money, navigate budget constraints, or structure deals creatively to align with available funding. Government/Public Sector Knowledge: 2+ years of experience in State and/or Local Law Enforcement Sales, Public Safety, or Government Sales. Understanding of the government procurement process, funding cycles, and grant mechanisms is critical. Customer-First Mindset: 5+ years of experience actively listening to the "voice of the customer" to not only understand what they need but how they can realistically achieve it. Soft Skills & Traits: Curiosity: A deep desire to understand the root causes of state-level problems. Hunger & Drive: A self-starter attitude with the persistence to navigate long, complex government sales cycles. Creative Strategy: The ability to look at a barrier (e.g., "no budget") and find a workaround. Technical Proficiency: Proficient in CRM software (Salesforce) and G-Suite. Travel: Ability to travel up to 50%. What Could Set You Apart Funding Expertise: Specific experience helping government clients secure grants or navigate complex legislative budget approvals. SaaS Experience: B2B Sales experience selling software-as-a-service solutions to the public sector. Executive Presence: Strong ability to communicate effectively with C-suite executives and high-level government officials. Industry Background: Experience working within law enforcement, public safety, or a similar industry profession. Matrixed collaboration: Successful experience working within a matrixed organization, leveraging functional groups (like Government Relations/Legal) to build market programs.
