VCA Northeast Animal Hospital is expanding its Patient Care Team and seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician! Schedule: Full-time with rotating Saturdays. Compensation: $20 - $22/ hour and is based on experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, and other relevant credentials. Why join the VCA Northeast team? About VCA Northeast Animal Hospital and What You'll Do: While we are not yet certified, we are actively working towards becoming a Fear-Free and Cat-Friendly Practice. Our goal is to provide care that reduces stress for our patients and promotes a more positive veterinary experience for everyone involved. If you are passionate about gentle handling, low-stress techniques, and teamwork, wed love to meet you! The skills that will be utilized include, but are not limited to: Laboratory/diagnostic duties. Assist veterinarians in surgical procedures, including prepping animals, monitoring anesthesia, and providing post-operative care. Perform dental cleanings and dental radiographs under the supervision of a veterinarian. Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians. Monitor vital signs and provide compassionate care to animals throughout their stay in the surgery and dentistry department. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records. Collaborate with a diverse team of veterinary professionals to ensure seamless patient care. Create detailed medical discharge instructions for clients. Venipuncture and IV catheter placements Physical examinations and patient assessment. Maintaining proper sterile conditions. Diagnostic imaging. Pharmacy.
