OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY Fox TV Stations FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Networks national content. JOB DESCRIPTION FOX 5 Atlanta is a prominent news organization committed to delivering engaging and high-quality news content across broadcast and streaming platforms. We are seeking a skilled News Video Editor to join our team and play a crucial role in preparing video sequences for our diverse media channels. The News Video Editor will utilize raw material to craft video sequences for news content on both broadcast and streaming platforms. This role involves collaborating with the Digital Team and Newscast Producers to identify and enhance strong video content for digital and social media publication. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Edit video sequences for broadcast and streaming content on deadline using editing software. Update iNews scripts to indicate running times of video sequences and times for graphics during live newscasts and special news coverage. Inform producers and writers about any discrepancies between written scripts and edited stories. Identify and prepare compelling video content for publication on digital and social media platforms. Edit special reports and other long-form content. Assist the Editing Coordinator by taking in feeds, restoring archive video, and ensuring all elements in a rundown are online before deadline. Serve as Editing Coordinator for newscasts when needed. Operate ENG Receive equipment as needed. Operate video & audio switching equipment to produce live streaming content as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Demonstrated skills in video editing under daily deadline pressure. Familiarity with social media and clipping elements for use on those platforms. Strong organizational skills, including digital organization. Ability to learn newsroom computer systems post-hire. Education & Experience: Bachelors Degree from a four-year college or university preferred. Two years of experience at a commercial television station as a news video editor preferred. Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $26.44-28.28 per hour. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents.
