JOB TITLE Post-Doctoral Fellow LOCATION Worcester DEPARTMENT NAME Business School - NFR JM DIVISION NAME Worcester Polytechnic Institute - WPI JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY We are seeking a highly motivated Post-Doctoral Fellow to join our NSF-funded project (award #2222713) at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). The successful candidate will work closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) and a multidisciplinary research team to conduct cutting-edge research, develop innovative solutions, and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in mathematical optimization, auction mechanisms, algorithm design, software development, and community impact. JOB DESCRIPTION Responsibilities: Conduct interdisciplinary research in collaboration with the PI and research team. Participate in research meetings and interactive sessions as part of a community-based participatory action research approach. Design and execute experiments, analyze data, and prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals. Lead the integration of quantitative and qualitative research into a functioning and usable technology. Prepare and contribute to grant proposals, including identification of research questions, definition of objectives, and development of methodologies. Present research findings at national conferences and workshops. Co-mentor graduate and undergraduate students, providing guidance on research projects. Teach one or more classes in subject areas relevant to the research. Engage in professional development activities, including training on the Responsible Conduct of Research. Requirements: Ph.D. in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related discipline. Demonstrated experience in interdisciplinary research. Strong background in mathematical optimization, auction mechanisms, algorithm design, software development, and community impact. Proficiency in experimental design, data analysis, and manuscript preparation. Interest and ability to join in grant writing. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Experience with project management and software development is preferred. This position may require occasional evening or weekend work to meet project deadlines.
