About the role HealthFitness is seeking a part-time (16 hours/week) Registered Nurse (RN) to join the team at our client site in Durham, North Carolina. If you're passionate about promoting wellness through health education and personalized counseling, wed love to connect with you! You will be responsible for conducting conduct biometric measurements and provide health education counseling as part of the employee health program. Part-time: 16 hours/week Schedule: M-F between the hours of 8a-5p Location: Durham, NC; this position will cover biometric screening events at several different clinic locations within the healthcare system, all within 30 miles. Key Accountabilities Conducts various biometric measurements including blood pressure, height, weight and BMI using professional clinical nursing skills for the purpose of collecting, interpreting, and recording pertinent health data. Utilizes health behavior change approaches (i.e. stages of change) to promote positive behavior change. Counsels employees on an individual basis using nursing skills regarding borderline and high risk biometric measures and makes referrals to appropriate resources. Assesses educational needs and provides participants with appropriate health information using sound nursing and adult education principles so that all employees may assume responsibility for their own health. Establishes positive interactions, using strong interpersonal communication skills, with all levels of employees for the purposes of laying a foundation for the educational process, maintaining employee relations, and providing health service. Maintains accurate records and reports to ensure appropriate collection of data and generation of statistics. Act as Site Manager as needed to oversee Health Assessment operations at scheduled sites. Completes set up and break down of the mobile Health Assessment site each day. Drives van as needed for offsite locations. Other duties as needing/assigned. Minimum Qualifications Current Registered Nurse license in the state of North Carolina. Current North Carolina driver's license, safe driving record, and ability to drive a van. Outstanding knowledge of lifestyle related topics such as weight control and stress reduction. Experience with application of health behavior change counseling utilizing stages of change or other theoretical approaches. Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills including the ability to motivate others. Experience handling personal health information and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including at minimum Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with enthusiasm, initiative, and creativity. Must be able to lift and carry various pieces of heavy equipment in and out of buildings and/or van, as well as on and off a cart and at times up or down stairs. Must be able to arrange rooms; includes the moving of and setting up of conference tables and chairs. Must comply with sites COVID Vaccination, Influenza (flu) Vaccination, and TB testing policy by providing documentation of vaccinations prior to the first day of work. Compensation: $26/Hour - $28/Hour. Pay is dependent on experience and qualifications.
