We are looking for an on-site Senior Software Quality Engineer at our Goleta, California location. Our team provides Quality oversight by ensuring continuous monitoring of metrics and conformance to requirements during the development, implementation, integration, verification & validation phase of a program. You will apply advanced technical skills and knowledge to assess and resolve technical problems, guide program teams to successful and compliant milestones and bolster a culture of technical excellence and mission assurance through our people with available mentoring, training, and opportunities for advancement based on performance. You will possess a strong academic foundation and experience in aerospace systems or engineering. What You Will Do: Work with cross-functional teams such as Engineering, Software Development, Security, and Integrated Product Teams. Promote software quality by influencing best practices, policies, and procedures. Support software quality best practices during software design, development, integration, and testing activities. Evaluate products and processes to support continuous improvement. Support software releases, including checksum verification. Participate in change control boards and track actions to completion. Review software deliverables and documentation, including test procedures and requirements traceability. Support customer and government quality audits, including AS9100 certifications. Participate in or lead, Corrective Action Boards, root cause investigations for defects and non-conformances, and continuous improvement teams aligned with CORE goals Qualifications You Must Have: Typically requires a Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or other technical field of study, and a minimum of five (5) years related Quality Engineering experience Experience managing defects and process improvements using root cause and corrective action methods. Experience with analyzing software quality metrics and identifying trends and gaps. Ability to influence others and drive quality improvements. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience with ISO 9000 and AS9100 quality management systems. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, OneNote). Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Demonstrated skills in: Problem solving Technical analysis Leadership and teamwork Decision-making with minimal supervision Qualifications We Prefer: Experience with Raytheon Corrective Action System (RCAS) tools. Experience with configuration management tools such as JIRA, ClearCase, ClearQuest, cPDM, or SVN. Experience with requirements traceability and product qualification testing (e.g., First Article Inspections). Knowledge of Agile, SAFe, and DevOps development frameworks. Experience using command media. Experience with software problem reporting and corrective action processes. Software or Quality Assurance certifications. The salary range for this role is 95,500 USD - 181,700 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidates work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
