Job Description: Location Mount Auburn Hospital, Cambridge Schedule Monday through Friday Anticipated schedule: 8:30 a.m.5:00 p.m. No weekends About the Role Join the Center for Women at Mount Auburn Hospital in a primarily clinical Medical Assistant role with some front-desk responsibilities. You will support a busy, high-volume OBGYN practice by rooming patients, performing phlebotomy, preparing for procedures, managing lab specimens, and helping maintain efficient patient flow. The practice may have six or seven providers working on a given day and treats patients across a wide range of obstetric and gynecologic needs. What Youll Do Welcome and room patients for obstetric and gynecologic visits Obtain and document vital signs, height, and weight Review and update medication and allergy information Complete required patient screening questions Perform phlebotomy and manage specimens accurately Prepare rooms and supplies for routine OBGYN procedures Assist providers during procedures as directed Communicate abnormal vital signs, visit concerns, and relevant patient information to the provider Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked exam rooms Document completed tasks accurately in the electronic health record Assist with patient check-in, check-out, and front-desk coverage as needed Help manage patient flow and communicate delays Follow all patient safety, confidentiality, infection prevention, and OSHA requirements What Success Looks Like| You will be successful in this role if you are: Comfortable performing phlebotomy Organized and careful when tracking specimens and laboratory work Able to adapt quickly in a high-volume practice Calm and effective while balancing changing priorities Teachable and willing to ask questions Attentive to detail Compassionate and professional with patients Comfortable assisting with both obstetric and gynecologic care A collaborative team member who is willing to help where needed Why Join This Team? The Center for Women is one of Mount Auburns busiest OBGYN practices, offering broad exposure to both obstetric and gynecologic care. You will gain experience supporting a wide variety of patient visits and procedures while working in a close, team-oriented environment. Staff members work together to manage a demanding clinical schedule and provide a positive, respectful experience for patients. Required Qualifications High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree in Health Science preferred. License Medical Assistant Certificate preferred., or Registration Certified Nursing Assistant preferred., or Certificate 1 EMT Basic License preferred., or Certificate 2 Phlebotomy Certificate preferred. 0-1 years related work experience required. Demonstrated Medical Assistant (MA) competencies within one year of hire. Basic familiarity with computers. Ability to navigate at a basic level within web-based applications. Preferred Qualifications Certified Medical Assistant Pay Range: $21.00 - $28.26 The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
