Summary Responsible for performing routine animal care and related duties at the Garland animal shelter including: medical evaluations, behavior evaluation, cleaning and maintaining kennel areas, socializing with adoptable animals and assisting citizens interested in adoption. Pay Rate: $14/hour Work Schedule: Sunday - Wednesday 7:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Care for, feed, monitor, medicate, and perform minor treatment on animals. Animal shelter duties including but not limited to handling animals, receiving animals brought to animal shelter by shelter staff, preparing adoption paperwork. Maintain proper inventory level of food, cleaning and other supplies. Notify Supervisor when restocking items from shelter is needed. Perform kennel cleaning and other related housekeeping duties. Assist with other shelter duties as needed. Minimum Education & Work Experience : High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) equivalent. Customer service experience Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Basic skill operating a computer and office equipment. Ability to handle animals over 25 pounds. Ability to thoroughly clean. Have questions or need assistance?
