Position Responsibilities: Responds to and completes service requests as outlined in company procedures or desktop procedures Inspects various routine, emergency and fixed fire protection equipment, systems and apparatus to ensure operational readiness and to comply with applicable codes, standards and company procedures and completes appropriate documentation Responds to emergency calls for assistance to mitigate hazardous situations by operating specialized tools, equipment and apparatus Determines the appropriate course of action within the scope of qualifications Completes appropriate documentation Conducts training in basic skills of the Fire Protection Specialist (using established lesson plans) Conducts training for external customers in emergency preparedness and safety skills to meet regulatory requirements and satisfy customer requests Completes appropriate documentation Monitors systems and receives requests for fire department services and dispatches resources appropriately Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): 2 years experience as a paid full-time Firefighter or any combination of 3 years experience as a full-time, part time or volunteer Firefighter within the last 5 years State, IFSAC or Proboard Firefighter 1 Certification State, IFSAC or Proboard Firefighter 2 Certification Current valid drivers license Current National Registry or Pennsylvania State Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification Ability to apply for reciprocity within 30 days of your start date and obtain reciprocity within 6 months of your start date Ability to pass and maintain a Firefighter physical/stress test Willing to work variable shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Certification in Aircraft Rescue Firefighting (ARFF) Certification in Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) First Responder operations Certification in confined space rescue Drug Free Workplace: Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies. Work Shift: This position will be for variable shift. Firefighters are assigned to a shift (A, B, or C) and work a 24-48 with a Kelly day schedule. There is also a D shift that is scheduled for 24 hour shifts every Monday and Thursday. Employee is paid for all 24 hours worked on scheduled and overtime shifts. This creates built in overtime when assigned shifts are worked in full. Union: This is an hourly position represented by the International Association of Firefighters, Local I-17.
